Fidgets Phooey
Okay, I have been asked how my 'fidgets' are working with my class. Since I made my beanbags on cords, my class has not been consistent in it's attendance due to much illness going around and some out of town trips. The first Sunday after making them, I had two very attentive children who did not need them. The next week I had 3 children, two of which were the same ones from the previous week. Last week was Stake Conference so I didn't have a class. This week, I only had one child in my class. I have shown the 'fidgets' to the kids. They look excited at first then after a couple of minutes act like they are toys gone bad (No bells and whistles). I am a bit afraid to use them as I think if I give them to the children to hold they are going to think they have been bad or something....which is not my intend. We shall see how it goes in the future. I may have to invent a game for their use. Stay tuned.....I am determined to conquer the reverence issue.

Sewing Update
Well, it's been a week since I started sewing for Shellagh and I have been enjoying it. I have made ruffled chair covers, and various pillows...some with ruffles, some without and some with double ruffles. Later today she will be bringing me the fabric for a queen sized bed dust ruffle to make which should be interesting. I am grateful for this opportunity. I am also learning a few things along the way which is always a positive thing. Shellagh seems to be pleased with my work and the speed at which I am able to finish each item. I am grateful for this job and for how it is making me feel about myself and my capabilities as a seamstress.

One Never Knows What Is Coming
Well, this piece of news will be a huge surprise to those who have known me for a long time. I have a job!!! I actually started work today. I am making slipcovers and pillows for a lady in our ward who sells her designs from her blog. Her business has taken off and she has been on over-load trying to keep up with the demands. She is at the point where she no longer can keep up with it herself and maintain any kind of life with her family or keep her creative juices flowing to keep the business moving forward. This is an answer to prayers on both ends! I am able to work here at home at the hours I choose and at the pace I wish. Ideal! If you would like to see her blog, I have her button listed here on my blog....It is Ticking & Toile. You will find her items for sale under her Esty designs on the right hand side of the page under her picture. Today after being shown what was to be done and how it was to be done, I went right to work on a set of 4 Isabella Chair Slips. She is in great need of getting caught up and getting orders out. Sounds like a fun opportunity to me! Once she is caught up she plans to continue having me sew for her as orders come in. Hey, I love to sew...and why not make a few bucks in the process?!?! Sounds like a winning deal to me!

A Bunch of Heart
Yes, I know I already posted a picture of one of the heart pillows I made. I was just so pleased to have made enough for all my granddaughters on time to get out in the mail today for Valentine's Day that I had to post a picture of all them. Sorry, nothing homemade for my two grandsons, but I doubt they will mind as they were not totally forgotten.

"Calling All Angels" 2
I was touched by this video a friend sent to me. I had been thinking about making and donating a blanket to a local hospital, anyway. I am going to make one to send for this couples cause.

Love Will Be In The Air
| Five of my munchkins live away from here. Grandma put a new twist on air mail delivery for Valentine's Day. I think they will think this delivery is mighty 'sweet' ! |

In Response...Or Lack Of
Last night I wrote on my facebook page something that has brought me some surprising responses both on facebook and privately. It made me ponder the impact of words both spoken and not spoken.
My post was : Sometimes it is better to bite your tongue ........mine is well tenderized. It will heal much faster than the harm it could have done.
Though I may have actually thought before opening my mouth in this particular situation, I am also guilty of the opposite....opening my mouth and regretting what comes out. Sometimes people interpret things differently than you meant them. Sometimes it is easy to give advice when it is not wanted, or react in haste. What works for one situation may not work for another.
In conversation with my sister today, she reminded me of something my mom has said many times concerning the times she had to bite her tongue while observing things we did over the years after we left home. Mom said that she would rather be criticized for what she didn't say, than what she did say. Her reasoning came from enduring her own mother who had a habit of stepping in when and where she wasn't wanted. Mom and Dad were good about not giving advice unless asked for...even then...they walked the line....choosing their words carefully.
It is interesting how some jumped to the conclusion that one of my children upset me or something personal happened. Neither was the case. What I wanted to respond to but didn't had to do with someone's personal viewpoint. They are entitled to their view. Knowing this person....nothing I could have said would have changed their mind. I just happen to think they are wayyyyyy off base. :-)
Should I have said that!?!??! :-)
